The Client

About Finders Society

Finders Society is a New Zealand brand offering curated, pre-loved fine jewellery. Every piece is one of a kind, found and cared for, then photographed and listed to find its next owner.

The range spans rings, necklaces and earrings from designers like Karen Walker through to vintage one-offs, priced between $100 and $400. The brand is built on a simple idea: found once, kept forever.

The Brief

What it had to do

1

A brand-new label with no storefront. It needed a home that felt considered and premium from day one, not a default template.

2

One-of-a-kind resale is unusual to merchandise: single-unit stock, honest condition, and no restocks to fall back on.

3

The pieces are the hero. The site had to stay quiet and let the photography lead, without feeling empty.

Our Approach

The decisions that shaped the store

Every choice served one goal: make a new label feel established, and let the jewellery do the talking.

1
A quiet, editorial palette
Fine jewellery sells on restraint. We built the store around a warm cream palette, a Playfair serif for headings, and a lot of whitespace, so the site gets out of the way and lets each piece carry the page.
2
Built for one-of-a-kind stock
Every piece is unique, so the store is designed around scarcity, not restocking. Each listing holds a single unit with a clean sold state, so the catalogue always reads as genuinely one-off.
3
A text-first homepage
No stock hero image. A calm typographic masthead, Curated. Unique. For keeps., opens the page and a matching statement band closes it, so the product photography is the only imagery competing for attention.
4
Shoppable by designer and by type
Collections for Karen Walker and other makers sit alongside rings, necklaces and earrings, so buyers can browse the way they actually think about jewellery.
5
One consistent photography system
A repeatable look for every piece: on a marble surface, on the body, and on clean white, all standardised to a single square format so the grid reads as one considered collection rather than a mix of sources.
What We Built

Everything in the engagement

Full custom Shopify build

Designed and built on Shopify, themed from the ground up and responsive from phone to desktop.

Brand-led homepage

A text hero, curated product rows, and a closing statement band, with a footer built to match the rest of the site.

Collections by designer and type

Smart collections for each maker and each category, so pieces file themselves correctly as new stock is added.

One-of-a-kind inventory setup

Every product set to a single unit with a clean sold-out treatment, built for a catalogue where nothing comes back.

A product photography system

A marble hero, on-model, and white-background shot for each piece, standardised to a uniform square so the whole store feels consistent.

Considered motion and cart

Gentle scroll reveals, a refined cart drawer, and a header that lifts on scroll, tuned so the polish never gets in the way.
